Concern for Him
 ====================
The love of the Azhvars for Lord Narayana is seen in their verses.
Tondaradippodi Azhvar wanted to go nowhere and to see nothing else except Lord Ranganatha of Srirangam.
Tiruppanazhvar said eyes that had seen Ranganatha’s beauty would never see anything else.
Nammazhvar and Tirumangai Azhvar took on the role of a girl pining for her lover, where the absent lover is the Lord Himself.
The Azhvars also see themselves in the role of parent to the Lord!
Periyazhvar sang of every stage of baby Krishna’s infancy and childhood, casting himself in the role of Yasoda.
If the Azhvars had allowed their minds to rule their hearts they would not have worried for His safety as Periyazhvar did, for what is the need to worry about the Omnipotent One?

But they spoke from their hearts, said Akkarakkani Srinidhi in a discourse. They expressed their love for Him. This kind of concern pleases the Lord. When a tired man comes home and his wife tells him not to overwork but to take care of his health, it doesn’t mean he is going to resign his job the very next day. But he is happy that his family cares about his welfare. Likewise, the Lord too is pleased that there are people who care so much for Him that they worry about Him. Most people in this world approach Him with a list of requests and complaints. How refreshing it must be for him to see people who have nothing to ask of Him but His love!

When Kulasekara Azhvar was listening to the Ramayana, he got emotional when the narrator got to the portion where Rama had to face 14000 demons. Kulasekara Azhvar ordered his army to go to Rama’s aid and he himself prepared to leave, forgetting completely that the Rama avatara had been in a different yuga. Such must be one’s concern for Him.
